For those of you who know just how little I love dirt you may be surprised to hear that I took the kids camping this weekend with some friends... and although it took almost an hour to scrub the dirt off of them when we got home yesterday it was worth every bit of it!
The kids and I are in the middle of much needed vacation.... so, if you've had a difficult time getting in touch with me that is why! We've been swimming and playing... and painting. We added some furniture to the house... and yesterday we headed over to the beach. Tomorrow we are off on another adventure for the weekend... so, I thought I'd take a minute to post some of the fun we've had so far!
I didn't have any idea that such a beautiful home existed in Hanford, CA... I was stunned (in a good way) when I pulled up to the wedding site on Saturday. The location was perfect... the dj was great... and the fireworks were fun!
The morning started off with rain. And some brides would be flipping out about that. But not Rachael. She was happy to see the rain. She loves the rain. And she figured it was God's way of telling her He was there to bless the day. It was a beautiful ceremony in Squaw Valley and a laid back reception... just perfect for them!
And here is what happens when you get Amy and I together...
These two are some of the most fun people around. When we met them at the bridal show last October it was an instant hit. I think they stayed in our booth most of the day... and then they came to the cake tasting and closed the place down... it's always a laugh when they show up! I was super dissapointed to find out that I was already booked on their wedding day... but very excited when they called with the idea to head up to San Fran for their e-session. I took along my partners in crime (jen and brian) and who ever said work wasn't fun? Here are my faves!
And now you get to meet the gnome. This little guy is the birthday gnome. He gets passed around... there are rules involved... and I'll leave the rest up to your imagination. So... I couldn't resist taking the gnome on a trip to the Bay or taking his picture with the happy couple.
This was a fun one for me. Not that they aren't all fun... but this time it was different. I've known Zack for a very long time. In fact, I met his family at church camp when I was 10 years old. I went to Pastor's Kids retreats with his older brothers... and then to college with them, too. Turns out that the oldest brother's then girlfriend ended up becoming one of my very best friends... fast forward 7 years and they are still some of my dearest friends (miss you guys!). So imagine my surprise when I hear that Zack is going to marry a girl from Hanford! Also turns out that said girl is the receptionist at the salon I go to... what a co-in-ki-dink. The wedding is in August and should be a blast!
